Summer Reading 2010 - For rising Juniors

THE VERITAS PROJECT
for rising Juniors as initiated by Father Paul

1.  WHAT IS THE WHAT by Dave Eggers (due by the beginning of March---an objective test will be given at that time).
This story of Valentino Achak Deng relays the “Lost Boys of Sudan,” the genocide they experienced, and their migration.  Mr. Deng has been invited to speak to the student body in March.

2. LEFT TO TELL by Immaculae Ilibagiza
This portrays the story of thirteen women who discovered God amidst the Rwandan Holocaust.

3.  ALIVE IN THE KILLING FIELDS by Nawuth Keat
This is the real-life memoir of Nawuth Keat, a man who survived the horrors of war-torn Cambodia.  A young Nawuth defies the odds and survives the invasion of his homeland by the Khmer Rouge.
